Roland Winkler is a solid-state theorist who has broad experience with spin-related phenomena in systems with reduced dimensionality. He likes to exploit symmetry arguments and group theory. He received his PhD from Regensburg University in Germany. He is a professor of physics at Northern Illinois University.
