SHORT BIO
Veronica Schmalz is a PhD student at Imec - Itec in collaboration with KULeuven and the VUB Brussels. Her research focuses on the intersection between AI and Linguistics. More specifically, she is computationally modelling language acquisition from agents' interactions in Fluid Construction Grammar while exploiting children 's intention reading and pattern finding capacities. During her studies at the University of Trento and the Freie Universitaet Bozen, she has developed skills in the fields of Multilingualism, Language Acquisition and Development, as well as General and Computational Linguistics. Moreover, she has worked on Speech Processing at the Fondazione Bruno Kessler (FBK), and NLP and linguistic resources at the European Academy Bozen (EURAC).
