SHORT BIO
Dr. Olfa Mahjoub is OWSD member since 2010. She is Associate Professor at the National Research Institute for Rural Engineering, Water, and Forestry (INRGREF), Carthage University, Tunisia. She is Head of the Chemistry Laboratory for Water-Soil-Sludge at INRGREF with +20 years’ experience in wastewater management and reuse mainly for agricultural irrigation. She is dealing with wastewater management and water quality, especially of Emerging Contaminants in the agricultural environment and water resources. She is working on cross-cutting topics like social acceptability, gender, institutional and environmental aspects related to wastewater reuse; SDG6; WEFE Nexus. She was Director of the Agricultural Research Planning, Monitoring, and Evaluation at the Institution of Agricultural Higher Education and Research (IRESA) (Feb 2020-Feb 2021). She is coordinator and partner in more than 19 international research projects funded by EU, USAID, USDA, DAAD, UNESCO-Sida, etc. She is UNESCO Expert on emerging pollutants in water resources. She is author and co-author of more than international 50 peer-reviewed papers (Google Scholar h-index: 10) with 12 book chapters and 12 articles in peer-reviewed journals and +100 international communications, keynotes and lecture. She is Guest editor of a Special Issue of Clean Journal- Soil, Air, Water “Emerging Pollutants in Irrigation Water: Origins, Fate, Risks, and Mitigation”. She is President of the Arab Word Association for Young Scientists (ArabWAYS) and IVLP and DAAD Alumni. She is Agricultural Engineer holding a PhD in Water Sciences (University Montpellier 1, France, 2009) and a MSc in Horticultural Sciences (INAT, 1997).
