SHORT BIO
Shachi Kumar is an AI Research Scientist at the Intelligent Systems Research(ISR) Lab, Intel Labs. She graduated from University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) with a Masters in Computer Science in 2015 and was member of the Statistical Relational Learning Group (LINQS Lab) at UCSC. She works in Assistive Computing and Multimodal AI research areas in the Multimodal Dialog and Interaction Research group in ISR. She innovated in different areas in NLP including intent recognition, word prediction and response generation. She also expanded into other areas including assistive computing for people with disabilities, multi-modal fusion and User Experience. She publishes and serves on program committees. Over the past several years, she has mentored undergraduate as well as high school students and given inspiring educational talks to diverse group of student visitors at Intel.
