SHORT BIO

Gal Patel has completed an MSc degree from The School of Computer Science and Engineering at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, under the supervision of Prof. Omri Abend. She is currently a research intern at Ask-AI, working with Prof. Jonathan Berant.

Gal is interested in how language is processed in artificial intelligence systems as opposed to the human brain. She is interested in the interpretability and alignment of NLP models, especially when using cognitively-motivated approaches. She aims to contribute to the development of safe, robust, and data-efficient systems.

Gal obtained her BSc in Computer Science and Cognitive Science at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem. She received a number of awards and distinctions for her academic achievements, including The School of Computer Science and Engineering Fellowship for excelling research students, Dean’s Award, Cognitive Science Award for undergraduates, Computer Science Excellence Program for distinguished undergraduates, Intel Scholarship for Outstanding Female Students.
