SHORT BIO
I am disease ecologist studying cross-species pathogen transmission using a combination of field, lab and computational approaches. After a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine, I discovered seabirds during my PhD, focused on pathogen transmission in seabirds. I have works on albatrosses, penguins, skuas and gulls in polar regions, as well as urban gulls in Europe. I am now based at the University of California Los Angeles where I primarily work on zoonotic viruses, but, at the WSC3, I will present some of my work on seabird pathogens.
