SHORT BIO

Letizia Campioni hold a first degree in Biology in 2004 by Università La Sapienza di Roma, IT, and a PhD Degree in Conservation Biology (obtained in 2012 at the Universidad De Sevilla, Spain). Between 2013 and 2017 she held a postdoctoral position at ISPA-Instituto Universitário and since 2018 she is Assistant Researcher in the same institution where she also started lecturing curricular units of the MSc course in Marine Biology and Conservation (Behavioural ecology and sociobiology since 2019) and of the Biology course (Animal behaviour, since 2020). Moreover, since 2019 she is member of the editorial board of the open-access Avocetta Journal of Ornithology. Her main area of expertise is Behavioural Ecology, using long-lived birds (mostly seabirds and raptors) as models. Most of her research focuses on feeding ecology, spatial and movement ecology including migration, prospecting and territorial movements as well as intra-specific communication. Currently she is expanding her interests towards the conservation of endangered seabird species including toxicological and managements aspects as well as incrementing activities aimed at increasing marine literacy.
