SHORT BIO
"Barbara completed her B.Sc in Psychology at Universidade Federal de Ciências da Saúde de Porto Alegre (UFCSPA-Brazil) during which she was awarded a full scholarship to complete a one year exchange period at York University (Canada). She obtained her M.Sc. in experimental psychology at Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS-Brazil) and during this period she completed a two-year clinical training in cognitive behavioral therapy. As a master’s student, she was awarded by the Emerging Leaders in the Americas Program (ELAP – Canada Global Affairs) a full scholarship for a research trainee experience at the Douglas Mental Health University Institute (Canada). Currently, she is pursuing a PhD in Neuroscience from the Integrated Program in Neuroscience at McGill University under the supervision of Dr. Patricia Pelufo Silveira. Barbara is interested in the interplay between dopamine and early environment conditions as the biological basis for the early origins of psychiatric and cardiometabolic comorbidities. With her PhD in neuroscience, she aims to address complex questions from the developmental psychology field. "
