SHORT BIO
Dr. Nada Sallam is a visiting scholar in Dr. Stephanie Borgland’s lab at the University of Calgary and a lecturer of Pharmacology at, Cairo University, Egypt. She obtained her B.Pharm.Sc. and M.Sc. from Cairo University, one of the top universities in Egypt and Africa, ranking first among her classmates and earning numerous academic awards. She completed her Ph.D. in Pharmacology and Therapeutics from the University of British Columbia, earning the Anne and John Brown Fellowship in Diabetes and Obesity-Related Research. She undertook one-year industrial postdoctoral training in Canada supported by Mitacs Accelerate fellowship. She has authored 20 journal articles and a book chapter with 667 citations and H-index 12. She conducted research in several pharmacology domains including cardiovascular and neuropharmacology and developmental programming.
