SHORT BIO
I am a Research Assistant in the StatMT group at the School of Informatics, University of Edinburgh. I recently completed my Masters in Computer Science from IIIT Hyderabad, where I worked for about 4 years on research problems at the intersection of Natural Language Processing and Knowledge Representation and Reasoning. During my time there, I completed 3 research internships (2 in NLP), with the most recent one being at IBM Research.
My fields of research interest, broadly, span NLP and Knowledge Representation. I am interested in exploring how these fields combine, and in formulating interdisciplinary solutions for crucial research problems in these areas. More specifically, previously, I have worked on applying NLP to several problems relating to Ontologies and Knowledge Graphs including Ontology Enrichment, KG Enrichment, Ontology Alignment and Ontology Evaluation. Currently, at the statMT group, I am trying to explore the reverse direction, i.e, how Knowledge Bases can benefit NLP, with a special focus on NMT for low resource languages.
