Prior to coming to Santa Rosa Junior College, I spent 17 years at the University of Minnesota studying how students learn to solve problems in introductory physics and how that knowledge could be used to guide the design of computer coaches. I now work on applying that knowledge to help my physics students in a two-year college setting.
