SHORT BIO
Sabrina Engesser is an evolutionary biologist studying vocal communication in animals. Her research specifically investigates combinatorial capacities in social babbler birds and its insights into the evolutionary origins of human language’s generative nature. She currently holds a SNSF postdoctoral research fellowship at the University of Vienna where she focuses on mechanistic aspects of combinatorial abilities and their environmental drivers.
