SHORT BIO

Dr Nicolin Govender is a world leader in the application of GPU computing to granular material simulations and has published more than 32 articles in the last 5 years. He has a master's degree in Nuclear Physics from the University of Johannesburg (South Africa), a doctorate in Computational Mechanics from the University of Pretoria (South Africa); Likewise, he has carried out Post Doctoral research in Mining and Mineral Engineering at the University of Utah (United States) and Chemical Engineering at the University of Surrey (United Kingdom). Dr Govender has interests in High Energy Physics as a member of the ATLAS project at CERN, where he has more than 100 articles and an H factor of 62. His current research is focused on the application of GPU computing to reduce solution time of problems of industrial relevance. Currently, he works as a Physicist at CERN, Professor at the University of Johannesburg (South Africa) and Senior Associate Scientist at Mondelez International.
