SHORT BIO
Yixin Nie is a fifth-year Ph.D. student in The Computer Science Department at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, advised by Mohit Bansal. Before that, he obtains his Master's degree at The University of Chicago and his Bachelor’s at The China University of Geoscience. Yixin also spent time interning at Facebook AI Research where he was mentored by Douwe Kiela and Jason Weston and interning at Microsoft with the cognitive service research team. His research expertise is in natural language processing and machine learning, with a particular focus on natural language understanding. He initiated some seminal works on natural language inference research, including adversarial natural language inference and its application in automatic fact-checking.
