1993-1998: University studies at the Masaryk University, Faculty of Science, Brno, Czech Republic, specialization: solid-state physics (degree Mgr. ~ MSc.).
1998-2002: PhD studies at the Masaryk University, Faculty of Science, Brno, Czech Republic, thesis title: “Electronic structure, martensitic transformations and stability of phases”.
2002-2005: Post-doctoral stay in the Theory department of Prof. Matthias Scheffler at the Fritz Haber Institute of the Max Planck Society, in Berlin, Germany.
2005-2013: Group leader within the Computational Materials Design department of Prof. Jörg Neugebauer at the Max Planck Institute for Iron Research in Düsseldorf, Germany.
Since 2013 Researcher (permanent contract) at the IPM CAS, in Brno, Czech Republic (10/2013 - 09/2018 funded through the Fellowship of Jan Evangelista Purkyně).
Since 2015: Group leader at the Institute of Physics of Materials CAS in Brno, Czech Rep.
