SHORT BIO

After completing a bachelor’s degree in life sciences I decided working as a lab technician was not my ultimate dream job. Ever since I was a little girl I dreamt of a career as a researcher so I decided to pursue this dream. After a pre-master in mathematics and statistics I was accepted into the Master Biomedical Sciences at the VU University in Amsterdam. I chose the Immunology and infectious diseases program and did my internships at the Academisch Centrum Tandheelkunde Amsterdam (ACTA) and at the parasitology department at the Leidsch Universitair Medisch Centrum. After graduating I have worked as a teacher and tutor for a couple of years before finally finding my dream job. Since 2019 I have been working at the ILD center of Excellence at the St. Antonius hospital were I am part of the PREDMETH trial. A unique trial that studies pulmonary sarcoidosis from not only a clinical point of view but includes a large part of fundamental research in de hunt of new predictive biomarkers to pave the way to more personalized medicine in the treatment of pulmonary sarcoidosis.
