SHORT BIO
Nick is a third year PhD student in the Laboratory of Semiconductor Materials at EPFL in Lausanne, Switzerland. He earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Texas at Austin in Chemical Engineering in 2012 and subsequently worked as a process engineer for Samsung Austin Semiconductor for three years in the Chemical Vapor Deposition Technology Team. He earned his master's degree in Materials Science and Engineering from EPFL in 2018 and started his PhD immediately afterward. His research focuses on the growth and characterization of III-V semiconductor nanostructures, with an emphasis on nanowires for photodetection.
