The Sustainability Of Health Economics

The potential for digital health careworkforce integration to alleviate theglobal health worker shortage crisis

**Welcome to Metabolism Month**, which brings together researchers within the field of metabolism to discuss the latest science in metabolic diseases and energy control. It is hosted and organised by the Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Basic Metabolic Research (CBMR) at the University of Copenhagen.

We have organised eight keynote talks from internationally recognised scientists, three poster sessions and a debate, which will be held on the first four Tuesdays in March. The format is the same for each week: Two speakers with a poster session or debate in between, from 16:00 to 18:00 CET.

You are currently viewing the event for Week 1 of Metabolism Month, which will be held on **March 2, 2021; 16:00-18:00 CET.**

The theme for this week is **Integrative Metabolism and Environmental Influences.**

To view the events for other three days of the conference, use the buttons below.
Information about all the speakers can be found at the bottom of the page.

**Poster Sessions**
The three poster sessions take place on March 2, 9, and 16, and offer young scientists the opportunity to present their work to a wider audience. You can already browse the posters one week prior to the presentation. To view the posters, and participate in the live session, press the Posters icon in the left navigation bar, fifth from the top.

If you have registered to present a poster, you can upload it by following this [link](https://dsabjnjw.paperform.co/).

**Resources**

The Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Basic Metabolic Research (CBMR) was established in 2010 at the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen. The establishment of the Center was made possible by a generous (DKK 885 million), unrestricted grant from the Novo Nordisk Foundation. In 2018 the Novo Nordisk Foundation awarded new strategic funding to the Center (DKK 700 million).

The Inter-University Big Data Challenge (IUBDC) is a unique inquiry-driven, experiential learning program that invites students from any undergraduate or graduate program to apply their problem-solving while gaining familiarity with the fundamentals of data science. The IUBDC fosters scientific inquiry, pioneering thinking, and a solution-focused mindset to drive innovative ideas in health economics, public health, and health supply chain management.

Please find lead student research projects in Health Economics, such as, but not limited to:

1. Strengthening the healthcare industry against economic damage through destressing the healthcare supply chain shortages.

2. Affordable Healthcare for all, where students investigate the economics behind the delivery of quality healthcare for all.

3. The economics behind public vs private healthcare systems, which one is more sustainable, and/or how they can possibly be integrated.

4. How personal and public healthcare are affected by inflation, and how to find sustainable ways to mitigate its effects.

5. Preparing for strain on healthcare systems given the discovery of new COVID-19 variants.
