The 20th International Conference of the Italian Association for Artificial Intelligence (**AIxIA 2021**) is organized by AIxIA (Associazione Italiana per l’Intelligenza Artificiale), which is a non-profit scientific society founded in 1988 and devoted to the promotion of Artificial Intelligence. Reasoning about Smart Contracts encoded in LTL

Weighted First-Order Model Counting (WFOMC) computes the weighted sum of the models of a first-order theory on a given finite domain. WFOMC has emerged as a fundamental tool for probabilistic inference. Algorithms for WFOMC that run in polynomial time w.r.t. the domain size are called lifted inference algorithms. Such algorithms have been developed for multiple extensions of FO2(the fragment of first-order logic with two variables) for the special case of symmetric weight functions. We introduce the concept of lifted interpretations as a tool for formulating polynomials for WFOMC. Using lifted interpretations, we reconstruct the closed-form formula for polynomial-time FOMC in the universal fragment of FO2, earlier proposed by Beame et al. We then expand this closed-form to incorporate existential quantifiers and cardinality constraints without losing domain-liftability. Finally, we show that the obtained closed-form motivates a natural definition of a family of weight functions strictly larger than symmetric weight functions.

Argumentation meets Process Mining: an architecture for log interpretation

A fuzzy multipreference semantics has been recently proposed for weighted conditional knowledge bases, and used to develop a logical semantics for Multilayer Perceptrons, by regarding a deep neural network (after training) as a weighted conditional knowledge base. This semantics, in its different variants, suggests some gradual argumentation semantics, which are related to the family of the gradual semantics studied by Amgoud and Doder. The relationships between weighted conditional knowledge bases and MLPs extend to the proposed gradual semantics to capture the stationary states of MPs, in agreement with previous results on the relationship between argumentation frameworks and neural networks. The paper also suggests a simple way to extend the proposed semantics to deal attacks/supports by a boolean combination of arguments, based on the fuzzy semantics of weighted conditionals, as well as an approach for defeasible reasoning over a weighted argumentation graph, building on the proposed gradual semantics.

Complex Arguments in Adpositional Argumentation

Agent-based modelling languages naturally implement concurrency for handling complex interactions between communicating agents. On the other hand, the field of Argumentation Theory lacks of instruments to explicitly model concurrent behaviours. In this paper we introduce a tool for dealing with concurrent argumentation processes and that can be used, for instance, to model agents debating, negotiating and persuading. The tool implements operations as expansion, contraction and revision. We also provide a web interface exposing the functionalities of the tool and allowing for a more careful study of concurrent processes.

Concurrent Argumentation with Time: an Overview

This paper examines the view of the burden of persuasion as meta argument and elaborates the meta-argumentative aspects of a burden-of-persuasion semantics in argumentation. An argumentation framework composed of a meta level (dealing with the burden) and an object level (dealing with standard arguments) is proposed and discussed, and its equivalence with the burden-of-persuasion model in argumentation is proved. Finally, a computationally-feasible implementation of the meta-argumentation approach is presented.
