over 3 years agoInteresting session. I'm going to discuss the toolkit for new university presses with our University Press in Groningen (UGP). we can use it for reviewing. Thank you!

over 3 years agoVery interesting session. Question for Graham: Why has Jisc decided to produce their own toolkit?

over 3 years agoMy experience is that it's very difficult to get authors past the first hurdle, covered by the "Common myths about open access" in the OAPEN toolkit. Many researchers still refer to OA books as "self-publishing", and the whole area is so tied up with reputation and prestige. Do you have any suggestions about how to address those conversations with (sometimes very senior) researchers?

over 3 years agoA key issue in the sector at the moment runs parallel to this - academic author rights with respect to textbook authoring. Ho much applicability would either of these toolkits have to a different use case...? That of coordinating OA authoring and publication of textbook and OER content?
