Centralized multi-agent frameworks like AutoGen and CrewAI suffer from high costs, rigidity, and scalability limitations, often creating single points of failure. Meanwhile, existing decentralized approaches (e.g., Swarm-GPT, FedProx) focus on model synchronization or emergent behavior, lacking effective task orchestration. We introduce Symphony, a decentralized multi-agent system that enables lightweight LLMs on edge devices to collaborate through three key mechanisms: (1) a capability-aware distributed ledger, (2) a Beacon-selection protocol for dynamic task allocation, and (3) weighted multi-CoT voting for robust reasoning.
