How do I view posters?
Locate the Semifinals Hall and Poster Symposium Hall from the navigation menu. To
view posters, click on a topic listing or search by keyword or author, or filter by topic
(listed below) and subtopic (Poster Symposium Hall only).
Click a poster tile to view the research.
- Basic Science
- Clinical and Translational Research
- Clinical Vignettes (Poster Symposium Hall only)
- Health Systems Science
- Medical Education
- Public Health and Health Policy
In the Poster Symposium Hall: To search by one topic, select the topic you want to view under “all tracks”. Then, click on view posters or select an additional subtopic filter in the “all sessions” tab. After searching a topic, to search by a different topic, click on the previous topic selected to unselect it. Now you can select a different topic for viewing under “all tracks”.
How do I connect with participants?
To comment or ask a question on participant research, submit via the Questions box.
For participants: How do I know that someone has commented or submitted a question for my research?
All poster pages have a Questions box on the right side of the page. If you are a poster presenter, you will need to log in to view any comments or questions sent to you by
attendees, and you can respond in the Questions box. You will receive an email notifying you that someone has posted a question or comment for you.
Who can score posters in the Semifinals Hall?
AMA member attendees have access to score posters in the Semifinals Hall.
How do I score posters in the Semifinals Hall?
Click on Semifinals Hall from the navigation menu. Click on a topic for listing of posters. Click a poster tile to arrive on a poster page. Click “Submit Score” and enter your email
address (you will only need to complete this authentication step the first time) to give your overall rating from 1 – 5 with 5 as the highest score based on the following criteria:
organization/visual presentation of the poster, verbal presentation, scientific value.
What is the recommended scoring criteria?
We recommend the following criteria to be used to rate Semifinals Hall posters and presentations for an overall rating on a scale form 1- 5 with 5 as the highest score:
Organization/visual presentation of paper
- Visuals are easy to read and logistically organized
- Grammar and syntax are correct
- Data is presented in a clear and understandable manner
Verbal presentation
- The presenter demonstrated their knowledge of the project.
- Presentation is limited to two minutes.
Scientific value
- The research question/objective was clearly stated and was directly related to the provided background information.
- There was a clear presentation of results/anticipated results.
What happens at the end of the semifinals when scoring is complete? And what is the AMA Research Challenge finals?
At the conclusion of this event, the AMA will announce the top five finalists who will advance to the AMA Research Challenge final round, present their research to an elite
panel of judges, and compete to win a $10,000 grand prize presented by Laurel Road.

AMA Code of Conduct
The AMA’s Code of Conduct for AMA-sponsored meetings is meant to ensure a professional and ethical environment for all attendees. Everyone should feel welcome, safe and able to participate without fear of unwelcome conduct or harassment in-person or through electronic communication (social media, texting, apps, etc.). The Code of Conduct also covers behavior during social events and gatherings held during the meeting, as well as interactions between members and AMA staff. The AMA has zero tolerance for any harassment of any attendee at an AMA hosted meeting or event.
