On Main Stage today, 10 December at 18:00 (CET), the live invited talk by Monica Lam, Professor of Stanford University. Her talk is on "Genie: The Open Virtual Assistant Initiative” and will be immediately followed by a Q&A session.

On Main Stage now, 10 December at 14:30 (CET), the live invited talk by Tal Linzen, Assistant Professor of Linguistics and Data Science at New York University. His talk is on “Neural Networks as Cognitive Models of Syntax” and will be immediately followed by a live Q&A session.

Amanda Stent will join us on the main stage on TODAY 9 Dec at 15:00 CET for a Q&A session based on their recorded invited talk.

The birds-of-a-feather session on Dec 9, scheduled for 15:30 CET, will be hosted by Esther Seyffarth instead of Pranav A. We will be meeting in the BoF plenary area in the virtual bar, just after the Q&A for Amanda Stent's talk. See you there!

The birds-of-a-feather session on Semantics, hosted by Preslav Nakov, was incorrectly displayed as being from 18:00 to 19:00 CET. We've updated the schedule and it now correctly displays the time for this session as 17:30 to 18:30. Make sure to copy the change to your calendar if you were planning on attending!

These are extraordinarily exciting times for our field, and we look forward to sharing our experiences with you in this virtual meeting. The presentations and discussions that will be happening at COLING2020 will showcase the state-of the-art in natural language technologies and forefront some of the challenges that arise when language is viewed as not just data but also as the most vital part of human communication in all its complexities.

COLING2020 has announced in the programme 16 papers that are deemed to be of outstanding quality. The selected papers are all on short-list for Best Paper, which will be revealed in the Closing Session. Outstanding papers are marked with a star.
