About Us
We are leading provider of technical qualification solutions for both vocational and continued education and offer state-of-the-art qualification solutions for many areas of technology to educational institutions and industrial companies all over the world. In technical education, we focus on innovative learning methods as well as future-oriented learning solutions around Industry 4.0 topics and energy transition.
We support you in teaching technology knowledge and soft skills in hands-on trainings on physical learning systems built with industrial components, but also increasingly independent of location and time through digital online learning tools. With our comprehensive range of learning solutions and trainings we aim to inspire young people to take up technical careers and increase the employability of learners as well as the productivity of companies.
We are part of the globally oriented, independent family-owned company Festo, headquartered in Esslingen am Neckar. Festo Didactic's 808 employees in 61 Festo national companies generated sales of EUR 143 million with 56,000 customers in 2020.

About our part in the Logistics League
We believe that in a world where Industry 4.0 is at reach, it is imperative to think beyond current discussions and first steps. What happens once we have smart products, batch size 1 and skill-based machinery in self organizing factories?
Research and experiments on production logistics of the future have to be done today. We would like to express our appreciation for all the brilliant minds and efforts to push concepts in Factory Logistics 4.0. Enabling further RCI:LL development and discussions is our pleasure, therefore we are more than happy to support the Logistics League as a partner with both, appropriate hardware solutions and industrial expertise.
Competency-oriented qualification in technical education
New technologies are changing industrial practice and thus the skills that skilled workers need to acquire today. Therefore, topics such as connectivity and communication, IT security and PLC programming, artificial intelligence and energy management are becoming increasingly important.
However, topics like these take more time to be included in education curricula than new requirements arise in the industry. In addition, there is often a lack of adequate professional training. This has resulted in what is known as a skills gap, a difference between the skills that are required in industry and those that employees possess.
This is where we come in. Our industry know-how as an automation specialist guarantees competency-oriented qualification that is geared to the requirements of the industry. Didactically high-quality learning resources and well-thought-out hands-on learning systems with industrial components ensure effective knowledge and skills transfer.

MPS 400 – the new all-round learning system series for mechatronics, automation technology and Industry 4.0
The MPS (Modular Production System) is a learning system for basic and advanced training in mechatronics and automation technology. Since 1991, it has been used at the world championship of skills (WorldSkills) as the system for the mechatronics competition.
The stations of the MPS are representing the most common sub-processes of any automated production. The learning system is modular in design and scores high in terms of industrial relevance.
With the new MPS 400 series, we are expanding the spectrum of learning content in both directions, the basic area including mechanics and the advanced area covering a lot of state-of-the-art Industry 4.0 content. As a miniaturized production line, MPS thus becomes a space-saving all-rounder, as it offers a deep insight into the intelligent networking of machines in the production environment as well as related work processes.
With the web-based software environment around a didactic MES system, MPS 400 becomes a profound basis for learning the latest Industry 4.0 technologies. FactoryViews, the new software environment for our factory automation learning factories, includes an integrated web store, learning content such as IoT retrofitting based on small controllers, touch panel programming, and artificial intelligence with machine learning algorithms.
Augmented reality supported learning concepts as well as a clear didactic preparation of all content with comprehensive learning materials in digital and print make the MPS 400 series the learning system of choice for cost-conscious, future-oriented educational institutions.
In order to tap into further subject areas, such as mobile robotics, machine safety, energy efficiency and IT security, and to integrate them into the lessons in a modular way, we provide suitable add-on packages for the MPS 400 series consisting of hardware and software components with corresponding learning materials.
Mobile Robotics for flexible production
Mobile robots are becoming increasingly important in automation technology alongside industrial robots. They can be used as logisticians for simple material transport. However, flexible production processes in smart factories place ever more complex demands on mobile robotics systems. With Robotino 4, the new competencies in the Industry 4.0 environment are quick and easy to learn.
With the whole Robotino ecosystem we give you the right building blocks to flexibly extend the MPS learning fields with the topic of mobile robotics. With our gripper kit the transport of workpieces between the stations of the MPS 400 series can be realized on three levels:
With our prepared sensor kit, Robotino inserts itself sensor-based between two stations and transports workpieces, completely without the need for further communication.
By communicating via OPC UA, Robotino can supply multiple stations with workpieces starting from the sender station.
Fully integrated into MES4 V3, Robotino is ready for flexible transport scenarios and can move workpieces between any number of stations.
Robotino 4
Robotino 4 conveys topics such as mechatronics, programming, sensors, motor and drive technology, closed-loop control technology and image processing in a simple and straightforward manner.
Plug and Learn: Robotino 4 offers various interfaces for many external devices and media. This extendibility enables interesting learning scenarios. The integrated learning system consists of hardware, software and workbooks.
Powerful actuator: Robotino 4 particularly demonstrates its performance by traveling individual or custom-defined routes as required. With its ESD-optimized wheels, the Robotino 4 also moves safely and reliably on demanding surfaces. Controlled by its omni-directional actuator, it rotates on the spot or travels in all directions.
Powerful innovation: Powerful latest-generation lithium-ion battery packs with a running time of up to 10 hours guarantee uninterrupted use in teaching. Robotino 4 remains mobile at all times due to rapid replacement of battery packs, even during operation. This enables ongoing project work and focused learning.
RGBD sensor: Robotino 4 particularly demonstrates its performance by traveling individual or custom-defined routes as required. It is possible to program journeys in a real and virtual environment using the new stereo camera system. The RGBD sensor depth provides an excellent spatial image for laboratory environments.
