I am a Conservation Biologist and a Plant Ecologist by profession. Currently, I am working on a project focusing on biogas technology. I want to understand how the local people can sustainably use cow dung to benefit them and the environment. My research interests also include short and long-term vegetation studies on change in plant species composition as a result of grazing disturbance and environmental variables. Since I graduated with my first degree, my passion has been in conservation of natural resources and how local people can sustainably use natural resources in their local areas to improve their livelihoods. As a Community Liaison Officer, I was involved in mobilising communities to form Community Based Organizations when I was working for Department of Wildlife and National Parks (DWNP), Botswana. I worked with communities to sensitize them on the importance of wildlife conservation and I helped them to embark on conservation projects that would assist them in alleviating poverty. For my PhD research, I used phytosociological method to classify semi-arid savanna plant communities of Khutse Game Reserve. I also used remote sensing technology to map plant communities so as to easily see how they are distributed in the reserve. In addition, I like studying distribution of plant communities and their association with different environmental factors. I spearheaded Environmental Education program of the DWNP in my duty stations. I continued with teaching when I worked as a Teaching Assistant and a Laboratory Demonstrator in the Department of Biological Sciences, University of Botswana.
