SHORT BIO
Dr. Gaiti earned his PhD in evolutionary biology and genomics from the University of Queensland (Australia), focusing on understanding the role of long non-coding RNAs and chromatin marks in human gene regulation. As a postdoctoral fellow in Dr. Dan Landau’s laboratory at Weill Cornell Medicine and New York Genome Center, he studied the epigenetic determinants of cancer evolution using novel single-cell multi-omics approaches. Dr. Gaiti has been appointed as an Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto with a start date of October, 2021.
